All scholarship completion deadlines occurring between March 14, 2020 and April 30, 2020 will be extended 90 days to allow scholarship recipients ample time to complete his/her training. All scholarship redemption deadlines occurring on or before April 30, 2020 will be extended until May 30, 2020. These extensions will be granted automatically and you do not need to contact GDEC to request these extensions.

Additionally, the prohibition of scholarships being used for online training does not prohibit scholarship recipients from utilizing training from authorized providers who chose to conduct classroom training via web services, such as, but not limited to, Skype, Zoom, and Web Ex in accordance with the Department of Driver Service’s Emergency Rule entitled "Remote Classroom Instruction.”


The mission of the Georgia Driver’s Education Commission is to maximize participation in driver’s education and training to reduce motor vehicle accidents by making driver’s training accessible and affordable to all Georgians.

Driver training schools may apply to become an authorized provider at any time. There is no deadline to apply. Please see the documents below for more information.
