May 904 Traffic Enforcement Award Winner MATEN II Press Conference and Award Ceremony

MATEN II, the Mountain Area Traffic Enforcement Network, won the Governor's Office of Highway Safety Award for Data Reporting in May and won a brand-new BAT Trailer for the law enforcement agencies in the network. A BAT Trailer is a Blood Alcohol Testing Mobile which includes a jail cell, Intoxilyzer, generator, lights, and a writing station to help in the pursuit of drunk and drugged drivers.

MATEN II consists of the counties of Whitfield, Catoosa, Dade, Walker, Murray, Gordon, Bartow, Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga. The BAT Trailer will be used in all of these jurisdictions.

Below are photos from the May 28th Press Conference and Award Ceremony held in Ringgold. GOHS Director Bob Dallas and GOHS Deputy Director Rob Mikell emceed the proceedings which included Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers, Dade County Sheriff Philip Street, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson, Senator Jeff Mullis, Representative Mike Snow, and Representative Ron Forster.

With Sergeant Don Stultz and Sergeant Jeff Black leading the way, MATEN II deserves great praise for being the best in Georgia for May.
